Good Racks is a student startup with the simple goal of expertly crafting racks from sustainable hardwoods, using eco-friendly and socially responsible practices. That sounds like a pretty good rack to us.
Our story has definitely been a crazy one so far. As a student startup we were able to boostrap our silly little company up to 7 people in the Golden, Colorado area. Right when we thought everything was going well, 2020 happened and we students were kicked out of our housing at the start of the pandemic. We lost all our employees and someone robbed us of all equipment and inventory in the process (Who would do that to a student startup right?) After a grueling six months of hard work we regrew back to full size and started making racks again in a temporary shop, but then the housing crisis swung in and made it impossible for us to find a permenant home. \ Add in supply shortages, labor shortages, and construction delays and things were looking pretty dim for a while there. Finally though, just in time for the next ski season, we've passed final inspection and are moving into our new and improved slopeside shop. Finally we can get back to the good part, making racks and doing that learning and growing part of being a student startup. We're a group of friends lucky to be working together on such a fun project. While we may not change the world with our product, we've been able to make something gorgeous the world hasn't seen before, and we think that's pretty cool.
